A car accident ended my dream of becoming a professional athlete, forcing me to rediscover who I was.
My career as a pastor took me to Colorado, where I met a friend who invited me to join his brokerage. It was a completely unexpected turn of events, but one that ultimately led me to you—and this letter.
Being a realtor had never crossed my mind. In fact, my goal was to be a professional baseball player. I was recruited to play college baseball in New Mexico, and once my playing days were over, I planned to coach. My path was clear—until I got hit by a car. The injury derailed my baseball career.
It was frustrating, being unable to train and watching my career spiral down. Baseball had been my identity—who I was up until that point—and my self-esteem took a hit. I had to ask myself the tough questions: Who am I without baseball? What am I supposed to do now? That season of loss and questioning was painful, but looking back, it was exactly what helped me understand my calling and strengthen my faith.
I worked as a residence hall director—keeping college students from burning the building down—when I met my wife, Rachelle. We started our journey together—now 15 years into marriage—while I completed my master’s in divinity. I was set on being a pastor.
We moved to Colorado, where I accepted a pastoral job, and life started to grow in every direction. We welcomed our four children: Jonah, Caleb, Benjamin, and Aubrielle. As the kids came in, so did the financial realities. I looked for ways to supplement our income, and that’s when my friend invited me to become a realtor.

It turned out to be a natural fit for me. I’m genuinely interested in people’s stories—and I want to be a part of them. I’m not interested in hard sales; I want the people I work with to feel valued and loved. I want them to feel seen, cared for, and supported in making the best decisions for themselves. Real estate allowed me to do exactly that.
However, not all brokerages were aligned with my values.
I went through a journey of finding the right place for me, and it was harder than you might imagine. I value authenticity—to be myself and to be valued for exactly who I am. Not all places were down for that. I also believe in taking care of the people who take care of me. Mutual commitment means a lot to me, and not every brokerage shares that same heart.
Finally, after trial and error, I joined the Berkshire Hathaway Brokerage in 2021. I found my team—the mentorship, care, and sense of family that I had been searching for. The environment motivates me to give my best every single day.
I give credit to God. All these blessings—the paths I couldn't have orchestrated myself—come from God, after all. I'm grateful for the relationships I've formed along the way and the opportunities that have come my way. My wife, Rachelle, is an incredible blessing. Watching her have our children, and seeing her grow and evolve as a woman and mother through the years, has been an honor.

For fun, I still play baseball in a men's league. I love books and movies—no surprise there, since I've always loved stories! Being a father is one of my greatest passions—preparing my kids for their futures and loving them. I also volunteer as a preacher in my congregation whenever I can.
Overall, I'm grateful for my life and the blessings that have come my way, especially during the challenging times.
Helping people is my passion. With 7 years of experience and hundreds of completed deals, I bring both expertise and integrity. Unlike many agents, I don't hand my clients off to someone else—I personally manage every detail from start to finish. Once we work together, my goal is to become your forever agent, someone you can trust with your real estate needs time and time again.
Because I truly care about my clients, I’m committed to offering honest advice—even if that means steering them away from a property that isn’t in their best interest. Budget matters and I always strive to help clients find a home that represents a wise financial decision.
Behind me is a large, supportive team and strong systems that ensure every transaction is organized and handled with care. No detail is overlooked. My calling is to care for and guide. I want every client to feel seen, guided, and fully taken care of every step of the way.
Sincerely,
Joshua Stephenson
